Feb 2007;Conor uses Sweden to develop loose and RWD skills.

Conor had only driven FWD cars so has developed a good balance on his left foot braking. However to challenge himself, he is using the BMW 325 Family runabout, Conor suggested it would be a good and reliable car for Sweden. So the 325 had its oil and antifreeze changed and off to Sweden for 2 weeks of fun.

Conor took to the RWD machine like a duck to water, he really enjoyed matching himself to the other BMW drivers there, and was fortunate to take home the “King of the Ice “ award for best times over all the 3 competitive time trials held at the end of the week.

March2007; Conor tests at Blyton track day

April 2007; Conor debuts in Rallycross

Conor debuted his Mini Rallycross Junior car at Blyton, He had no chance to drive the track so a few laps walking the track helped on the morning. Dad was the stock hatch record holder here and had some hints on lines, but Conor quietly absorber the info, he then put in a 3rd fastest junior on the practise on his 1st attempt at the track. His nearest rivals were Soon to be 17 Ben Rennison [son of ex European Champ Mark] plus Russ Simson [16 yr old brother of Ash Simson]. With 15 yr old Mat Thompson looking good too.

The qualifying went very well, Conor taking 3rd for the A final.

The Final saw Conor in 3rd at the 1st bend behind Rennison & Simpson, Thompson made a mistake and spun, this left Conor a clear 3rd. A mature thinking Conor said to himself I cant lose 3rd, but I could get 2nd.

A brave move followed which so nearly worked [It has Commentator Arthur Debenham off his seat]. But in the end Conor settled for 3rd and a podium debut.

He has help and support from Yokohama and Mintex, he already has attracted the eye of Businessman Simon Davison who has pledged the next two entry fees through his company www.pro-drivers.co.uk.

What can Conor offer, simply its Publicity and rewards . There will be a TV programme soon on Sky tv, covering Conor and his exploits.

Motorsport News and the Daily Mirror still follow his progress [Is he the Rallying equivalent of Lewis Hamilton?? We don’t know].

But imagine being able to say I helped the Champion in his formative years.

What can Conor offer Businesses, he offers, Incentives, be part of the team, hold a rallyschool event for your customers, [Better than golf], or bring your best customers/staff to an event, with the car liveried in your colours and full hospitality, or even bring staff, family, friends , customers to Sweden and let Conor teach you the art of drifting.

The possibilities are endless, but Conor’s team know how to give back to Sponsors. So it wont be all one-way!!!!!
